Welcome to my page

Welcome to my site which is my sounding board and blog for sharing ideas and experiences. I believe it is the people out there who really make a difference and a pool of ideas and healthy discussion or brainstorming session engenders more progress than we give credit for.

I love to communicate and this medium is marvellous. Please post, comment, disagree, debate or add anything you like. Our Woolgathering thoughts and ideas are important. Who knows where it will all end or what we may achieve.

Welcome everyone and enjoy blogging.

Learning French

Okay folks - I'm learning French, keeping my old brain active. The language centres are not as switched on in later years but I'll give this my best shot.

As we are now a global village, with our French folks across what is little more than a river/channel, our country is now overrun with people who talk other languages. French seems the most obvious one to learn, as I understand that much of our own language has roots in that part of the world.

It is the pronunciation that worries me. A simple word, such as 'station' is pronounced differently. I suppose I'll just have to speak French with an English accent (whatever that means).

I'll keep you posted.
