Things that make you go hmmmmm - solved!
Okay, so I did some investigating. The site in question is simply explained as a main site for the Highways Agency. Apparently, all the machinery used to keep the motorway clean and maintained is stored here. There you go folks - no problem and I'm happy enough.:-)
