Well folks, it is that time of year again. Trick or treat kids will shortly be tapping at my door dressed in bin-liners and with painted faces, offering me good fortune in exchange for sweeties or coins.
I wonder if these kids know the history of their shenannegins (sp). It seems, just as Bonfire Night has become a mere firework session, Halloween is merely dressing up to get sweets from neighbours. Ah well - I suppose we were the same as kids. I hope all the little ones stay safe and have a great time dressing up a ghouls to scare us. Thankfully, so far, my visitors are all accompanied by adults.
