Well, here we are, Winter in England and snow is here. A couple of days before Christmas it snowed, then froze and now, early January, the snow has turned to ice and England is almost at a standstill. I have noticed a lovely positive side to all of this. Yesterday our roads were so bad that not many folks could make it into work, schools closed and England developed a problem with salt supplies. However, folks came out of their homes, were walking their dogs, playing with their children in the snow, talking to each other and there was a tangible feeling of freedom from the daily obligations that get in the way of living life to the full. I know that we need to work to eat but aren't we all slaves to the 'system' in some way.
Yesterday, the system was put on hold for a short while and people were free to be themselves. What a wonderful day it was.
We need more snow days in this busy crazy world.
My adult kids became little kids for just one day and the results are - our lovely snowman shown here.
Happy New Year everyone!
