This is where I live folks. Last summer the beauty of this part of England (Middle Earth :-)) was overshadowed by constant rain and gloomy aspect but this summer has brought out the very best so far.
My little town is very pretty, the place of my birth to which I have gladly returned, with such beauty on the doorstep. Within an hour I can be in the Lakes, North Wales, The Dales, Peak District and of course the lovely rolling hills of Lancashire are all around me.
Often the media work hard to depress us, with credit crunch stuff and nanny state proclamations. This is my land, my home and my freedom to enjoy whatever mother nature has to offer.
Now that I'm the proud owner of a pensioner's travel pass, I look forward to taking a closer look at other areas in this gorgeous island we call home.
Mediterranean countries can do what they like, we have the finest for sure. They are fine to visit for a short time now and again, for a change, but home is here where my heart is and England's beauty cannot be beaten in my opinion.
America has huge mountains, huge cities, huge wide open spaces. Personally I prefer to turn a corner and observe something breathtakingly different, smaller and gorgeously quaint.

Welcome to my page
Welcome to my site which is my sounding board and blog for sharing ideas and experiences. I believe it is the people out there who really make a difference and a pool of ideas and healthy discussion or brainstorming session engenders more progress than we give credit for.
I love to communicate and this medium is marvellous. Please post, comment, disagree, debate or add anything you like. Our Woolgathering thoughts and ideas are important. Who knows where it will all end or what we may achieve.
Welcome everyone and enjoy blogging.
